Core Toolset
The WiX Core Toolset contains the command line compiler and linker for compiling WiX .wxs source files into MSI and MSM packages. It also contains the standard WiX CustomAction libraries and online documentation.
Votive
Votive is a Visual Studio plug-in that lets you create WiX setup packages using the Visual Studio IDE. Votive supports syntax highlighting and intellisense for .wxs source files and adds a WiX setup project type to Visual Studio. All files belonging to the Core Toolset is also included in this download.
